Understanding the DRMS Process Before the Peak Ranch Resource Public Hearing

This message from Friends of the Lower Blue River is to clearly explain what is ahead with the Peak Materials proposed gravel mine at Peak Ranch Resource and meetings with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS)

DRMS Sets Hearing Date to Discuss Peak Ranch Resource

The hearing date is set by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety to consider the Peak Materials proposal for the Peak Ranch Resource gravel mine. It will be a Zoom Conference for those who submitted letters to the DRMS. Here is the information:

Gravel Pit Update--Decision Date Delayed

The DRMS (State Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety) has further delayed it's decision date on DRMS File M2020-041 for Peak Ranch Resource to March 16, 2021. The decision date was scheduled for today, January 15th. It has now been further delayed. We will continue to keep you posted.

We are all still waiting for the DRMS to notify us about the public hearing schedule and guidelines regarding the Peak Ranch Resource permit request. We recently received an email from Eric Scott, Environmental Protection Specialist for the DRMS. He says at this time no conference or hearing dates have been scheduled as the Division is still working through the adequacy process with the applicant.
