FOLBR 2023 Founder's Award Recipient John Hillman

John Hillman has been a part of the FOLBR Board since the beginning. In that role, his passions have improved public safety in the Lower Blue. He worked for years to get improved cell service in our valley and succeeded at that a few years ago with the AT&T tower at Quaking Creek Ranch.

John is a self-appointed cheerleader for our fire department. He helped make it possible for Lower Blue property owners to join the Lake Dillon Fire District. He led the way establishing an emergency fire-fighting water supply for Acorn Creek and surrounding neighbors. John promotes chipping and other fuels-reduction programs. He’s worked to establish and maintain 2 emergency escape routes out of Acorn Creek, to use in the event their narrow dirt road becomes engulfed in wildfire.

John has always been the voice of sensibility on the FOLBR Board and we all appreciate his years of service. It is our pleasure to present John Hillman with the 2023 FOLBR Founder’s Award.
