Happy Trails

Come March first, I will step down as Executive Director of Friends of the Lower Blue River. This will be the last River Flow I publish. The last six years have been rewarding for me, because I truly believe in FOLBR's mission. The organization and focus has evolved over the years and I believe FOLBR is poised for the future, protecting the best interests of the Lower Blue River Valley. We are all fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado and FOLBR wants to keep it that way.

I want to thank a few people I've worked with along the way. Thanks to John Longhill, who hired me as Executive Director back in 2018 when he served as FOLBR Board President.  Thanks to George Resseguie, Sam Kirk and now John Marshall who've served as Presidents of the Board during my tenure. To all the current and past members of the FOLBR Board of Directors, thank you for your cooperation through good and challenging times. To all members of FOLBR, thank you for your continued support. FOLBR needs you now, more than ever as the effects of climate change threaten our environment. I want to thank our Director of Climate Action, Tom Koehler, for his tireless effort to address the climate issues in the Lower Blue.

I am leaving FOLBR in good hands with Rachel Ruiz, taking over as Executive Director. I look forward to Rachel's leadership. She brings strong ideas and a new set of eyes to the organization. There is much work to do in the Lower Blue River Valley to preserve this wonderful place for future generations. The good news is my wife Susan and I are here to stay and we will continue to support and be involved with FOLBR.

Happy Trails....
