Our current Executive Director, Jonathan Knopf is retiring April 1, 2025! Jonathan is the keystone to the daily functions of FOLBR. For almost 8 years, he has been the backbone of our organization and brought FOLBR to where it is today - an active participant in issues facing the Lower Blue River Valley.

Job Description: Executive Director
Friends of the Lower Blue River
Required Skill Sets: This is a part-time administrative job requiring management, communication, writing, computer skills, and organizational experience. Key skills and responsibilities:
Ability to contact people in a timely and efficient manner
Work collaboratively with the Executive Board. Ensure the FOLBR Board of Directors functions efficiently and effectively, and the FOLBR mission is consistently honored and achieved.
Work closely with the Treasurer/Bookkeeper on banking (accounts payable and receivable).
Regular collaboration with FOLBR's webmaster to maintain quality of the website.
Oversee the function of the organization.
Serve as point person representing FOLBR in the community.
Manage membership functions so that FOLBR maintains a high and positive profile in the community.
Manage all paid employees of the organization.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Keep watch on emerging issues in the Lower Blue River Valley which could be important to FOLBR. Keep Board members informed. This is accomplished by attending pertinent BOCC, Lower Blue Planning and other community meetings when issues relevant to FOLBR are being discussed.
2. Daily Facebook posts of alerts and media articles. Issue position papers and/or alerts to members based on Board instruction. Coordinate with the President and/or executive committee regarding dates of Board of Directors meetings. Prepare the BOD meeting agenda, send meeting notices and arrange meeting location.
3. Coordinate and manage all aspects of FOLBR events including the Annual Membership Meeting, planned public meetings, other events with like-minded county partner organizations, and various work projects. This includes reserving locations, arranging food, press releases and other media contact and communications. Many of these functions can be, and have been delegated to members.
3. Contact (through meetings, phone calls, e-mails) new members and prospective members.
4. Create and send a monthly newsletter to the FOLBR membership as well as past members and friends of the organization. Send other membership, event or communications recommended by the Board.
5. Maintain and update membership lists, including addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and membership dues paid. Accumulate and maintain a database in partnership with FOLBR’s webmaster.
6. Be FOLBR’s point person for the public at large: field phone calls from all interested parties, and be available to the local media. Any questions which arise that, in the Executive Director’s judgment, have not been already addressed by the Executive Board, should be discussed with the Board prior to issuing any statement.
7. Make deposits to existing bank accounts when required and collaborate with the Treasurer/Bookkeeper. Check mail weekly at Silverthorne P.O. Box.
Estimated hours spent per month on these responsibilities: 30 hours.
Salary is negotiable.
