Lower Blue "pump back" study launched

The Blue River snakes down the valley along Highway 9 north of Silverthorne. A long-simmering notion to pump water back to Dillon Reservoir is getting some serious consideration as a potential solution to water shortage problems.

Mark Udall and John Salazar introduce Bark Beelte Legislation

Dear Fellow Coloradan:

Last month, local elected officials joined represetatives of the Forest Service, the time and ski industries, homeowners, and other in a meeting with Mark Udall to discuss issues and concerns about the impacts of the bark beetles on Colorado's forests and the resulting increase in the likilhood of server forest fires.

Base on the input received at this meeting and from other sources, we have developed the draft legislation.

We would appreciate receiving your comments, suggestions or other input about this legislation. Because we want to proceed without unnecessary delay, we would like to hear from you by November 17th.
